After the calendar turns to 2014, the Hurricanes will play 18 games from Jan. 2-Feb. 8 prior to the NHL taking an extended break as players participate in the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Carolina will have a four-game home stand from Jan. 31-Feb. 8, prior to the Olympic break.

The Hurricanes will embark on a four-game road trip following the Olympic break, and will play their first post-break home game on March 7 against the New York Rangers. Carolina will round-out the regular season with seven games in April, including five against Metropolitan Division opponents.

In all, the Hurricanes will play 20 sets of back-to-back games during the 2013-14 season, 18 of which involve travel.
